After graduating from the University of London with a diploma in Silversmithing and Jewellery, Harvey spent the first five years of his working life as a Goldsmith/ Silversmith with Leslie Durbin MVO.

Then after over 20 years working as a Diamond Mounter and with the wealth of experience and several awards from the Goldsmiths Craft Council for Jewellery Design and Manufacture and the winner of the Bank of Scotland Tercentenary Design Competition, Harvey formed his own Jewellery Design & Manufacturing Company.

In 1999 Harvey was made a Freeman of the Goldsmiths' Company, in recognition of his teaching of apprentices, as well as being made a Freeman and Goldsmith of the City of London. This was followed in 2000 with Harvey becoming a Fellow of The Institute of Professional Goldsmiths. This body is made up of only the cream of craftspeople in the country and any new members have to undergo vigorous scrutiny before being accepted.

His success has seen the progression into Diamond set 18ct Yellow & White Gold pieces, with the culmination, during the last six years, of introducing to his collection Platinum & Diamond jewellery ranging from entire suites to individual rings, earrings and pendants.

The Sillis reputation of being able to design and create 'something different' has resulted in many independent retailers together with individual clients approaching Harvey to undertake one-off bespoke commissions. Examples of these can be given on request.
